One of the best day trips from Marbella is a short drive to the pretty white village of Mijas Pueblo, in the stunning Sierra de Mijas. Although Mijas is only a 30 minute drive from Marbella, it feels like a whole other world as the quaint white village sits on the hillside and offers stunning scenery and great walks too. You can take a private guided tour or rent a car and explore for yourself.

There is a large main square when you first arrive in town where you will see the traditional donkey taxis and there are flamenco shows every day during the summer months. There’s an excellent tourist office in the main square where you can pick up brochures on things to do in the village and nearby hiking trails; make that your first stop.

Whether you are looking to explore history and culture, enjoy the outdoors or just relax, Mijas has something for everyone.
