The Marbella Club Golf Resort is a rural course, around a 30 minute drive into the countryside from Marbella, close to Benahávis village. This off-the-beaten-track location gives you stunning scenery and a wonderful peaceful setting for a game of golf, and is worth the drive.
The course was designed by Dave Thomas and offers 6,247m of amazing tee shots, breath taking views and excellent fairways and greens. It is a very well maintained 18 hole par 72 course which limits play and has a policy of an average of 30 minutes between tee times. Add to that the forested areas between holes and peace and privacy are almost guaranteed.
This is a challenging, tight course, which is one of the best mountain courses on the Costa del Sol and offers plenty to delight mid to low handicap golfers, but is not suitable for beginners! The feedback on the course online is almost perfect, with 46 excellent reviews on TripAdvisor and 17 very good, the only complaints being average service in the restaurant. The Costa del Sol Golf website describes it as in their “top 5 courses to play on the Costa del Sol” due to the great design, challenges for everyone, with a serene atmosphere and lovely setting. Read the course guide here.
The Marbella Club Golf Resort has a stunning Club House overlooking the greens. This includes a restaurant with well-priced food and a great terrace, a bar and coffee shop, pro shop, changing rooms and lockers and club rental. Also on site is a driving range and ample parking, plus there are golf lessons available if you wish to improve your game.
Green fees are reasonably high at 109€, but reflect the quality of the course and the 30 minutes between tee times.
