Santa Clara Golf is a relatively new golf club which opened in 2001 on the outskirts of Marbella. The 18 hole par 71 course is 5,878 metres long and was designed by Enrique Canales Busquets to suit golfers of all abilities. Its easy to reach, central location and forgiving layout is ideal if you have a mixed group, or you’re playing as a family. CostadelSolGolf.com describes the course as “a pussy cat rather than a tiger”, good for high handicap players which can offer the less serious golfer a “fun and rewarding day out”.
Santa Clara is rated for the quality of the layout and Enrique Canales Busquets’ design, which has respected the natural environment and integrated the local flora and fauna. In 2003 it hosted the Spanish PGA Championships.
The practice putting areas and driving range are very good, with the driving range rated as one of the best in the area. Although there is some mixed reviews on TripAdvisor due to the condition of the course deteriorating in recent years, it is generally well regarded and is a popular course.
There is a Club House with Pro-Shop and Restaurant, which has a large terrace with lovely views, a golf school and a golf club repair service.
Green Fees are 97€ in the high season and 67€ in the low season, with discounts for online bookings, early bird and twilight rounds.
