This is a wonderful restaurant for lovers of modern Belgian dining, who want to try interesting, delicious, fresh food in an intimate location. Alexandre is a Belgian self-taught chef who set up the kitchens of Casanis (link to the page) and Casamono, before starting his own restaurant close to Puerto Banus.
With experience in some very high level kitchens and a passion for perfection and excellence, the food served at Alexandre is first rate. There is a small, regularly changed menu of just six choices – three starters, two mains and one dessert. The most popular option is to have a tasting menu of 4, 5 or 6 small courses, but you can also order from the menu normally if you prefer. The food gets rave reviews on TripAdvisor with diners saying it is “the best food on the Coast”, that Alexandre is “one of the best cooks in Europe” and that the restaurant deserves a Michelin star!
It is an intimate, contemporary restaurant with a small inside dining area and garden with fountain for al fresco dining, with a cool, modern atmosphere and great lighting. If you sit inside you enjoy the show of the Chef cooking in an open kitchen, which definitely adds to the atmosphere. The atmosphere is relaxed and tranquil, with great service and well informed staff.
It is open for dinner from 7.30 every day apart from Sunday. Lunch is upon reservation only, for groups of four or larger. Bookings are essential, due to the size of the restaurant and its popularity year round.
