Colonial deco with sea views.

Trocadero Arena is a refined, cool beachfront restaurant to the east of Marbella centre. Taking the classic Spanish chiringuito and combining it with beach club cool and safari style, this is a great place to spend the day chilling on the beach, or to eat lunch or dinner in stunning surroundings.

The interior of the restaurant is like a safari lodge, with animal prints, art, richly patterned rugs and a colonial style. It is cozy and comfortable with lots of different areas to choose from, to enjoy a coffee, a drink, lunch or dinner.

Outside it is a more conventional beach club feeling, with some lovely chill-out sofa areas and beautiful white sun loungers with umbrellas to protect you from the heat of the sun. You can hire a bed for the day, or just enjoy a cocktail or a cold glass of wine with the sand between your toes and the staff look after you well.

The menu is Mediterranean, with chiringuito classics such as gazpacho, croquettes, paella, fried fish and seafood. Alongside these Spanish favourites, there are a selection of international dishes to shake things up a little such as sea bass ceviche from Peru, tiger prawn tempura and chicken stir-fry from Japan and prawn and crab ravioli and penne with mushrooms and truffle sauce from Italy.

It is a very popular choice for an upmarket beachside restaurant with a quirky style and perfect for a luxurious day at the beach.

Where to stay?

Trocadero Arena is in a quiet residential area to the east of Marbella, right by the Rio Real Golf Club and close to Marbella Golf and Country Club and Santa Clara Golf, so it’s a great location for golfers. You can stay in central Marbella, or choose one of the urbanisations nearby, such as Urbanisation Los Monteros or Bahia de Marbella. These developments are both very popular because of the peace, close proximity to the beach and being within easy reach of these three great golf courses, as well as Trocadero Arena and a number of other great beach clubs and restaurants.

You will need a car if you’re staying at one of these urbanisations, but there’s plenty of parking and access into Marbella, Puerto Banus and Nueva Andalucia are all very easy. Plus, you tend to get more space and facilities for your budget being slightly out of town. We have a great selection of Marbella vacation rentals to choose from and golf and accommodation packages for the golfers too.
