Ta-Kumi is a lovely restaurant in the heart of Marbella serving delicious Japanese food. It is the brainchild of two exceptional chefs – Toshio Tsutsui and Álvaro Arbeloa, who came up with the name to signify their passion for artisan preparation and excellence. The two chefs have come together to create a fusion of the best Mediterranean and Japanese gastronomy, prepared with the finest ingredients and with a focus on stunning presentation.

Just a few minutes’ walk from the seafront, this restaurant is beautifully decorated with oriental touches, while still being contemporary. It is cool in the summer, with a terrace for warm summer evenings, but also perfect for when the nights draw in. Service is excellent and the team are very good at making recommendations for people who are not familiar with Japanese cuisine.

Ta-Kumi is said by many to serve the best sushi in Marbella, with a wonderful selection of Maki, California rolls, Nigiri and Sashimi made from the freshest fish. One reviewer on TripAdvisor called it one of the top 5 sushi places in the world, which is quite an honour! They have hot dishes as well including Miso soup, Yakisoba, Udon noodles, and Yakitori and often have daily specials. They also have a Tasting Menu, which comes highly recommended.

If you are a fan of Japanese food, this is one not to miss on your next

trip to Marbella. It is relatively expensive, due to the quality of the ingredients and the care taken for every dish, but we believe it is worth it for the stunning food, service and lovely environment.
